The Galaxy S26 Ultra wins MWC’s prestigious Best in Show award

The Galaxy S26 Ultra wins MWC’s prestigious Best in Show award

Yesterday, Samsung Electronics and numerous other consumer electronics brands attended the Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO Awards) at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona. At the ceremony, the Galaxy S26 Ultra stole the spotlight by snagging the coveted Best in Show award.

Judged by more than 200 independent analysts and industry veterans, the Best in Show category celebrates products that set new technology benchmarks for the consumer market.

Best in Show is one of the industry's highest honors, as any device that earns this award is considered the gold standard. And apparently, the Galaxy S26 Ultra became the new gold standard at MWC 2026.

Galaxy S26 Ultra, praised for its hardware and software blend

Today, Samsung revealed that its brand-new Galaxy S26 Ultra wowed MWC attendees and won Best in Show thanks to its seamless blend of advanced hardware and intuitive, proactive One UI 8.5 software.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra, and indeed the S26 series, are the first to ship with One UI 8.5 and the latest Galaxy AI upgrades. The new Ultra is also the world's first to use the clever Privacy Display technology.

Even so, the Chair of the Judges for MWC Best in Show said, “This year's competition was exceptionally strong.” Nevertheless, the panel chose the Galaxy S26 Ultra because it “stood out for pushing the boundaries of mobile technology […].”

More importantly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra won the award because, although many exciting technologies highlighting the way of the future were showcased at MWC, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is an actual commercial product you can order today.

Samsung's new flagship phones are available for pre-order globally. The series consists of the base Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+, and the award-winning Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Unfortunately for non-Ultra fans, the base S26 and S26+ models are not quite as exciting as the Ultra. They have the same processing power and versatile Galaxy AI suite but lack the Privacy Display feature, the anti-reflective display, the S Pen, and the powerful camera with 100x zoom. Then again, they are cheaper than the Ultra.
